Where iA Writer wins
- The writing experience. Signature typography, focus mode that dims everything but the current sentence, and Style Check for tightening prose. If your goal is to write well, iA is crafted for exactly that; OpenMarkdown isn't.
- Mobile, and iCloud sync. Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android, and Windows, synced over iCloud. OpenMarkdown is desktop-only — native on macOS, Linux, and Windows, but no mobile app or built-in sync.

The preview re-renders and scrolls to each change the agent makes. iA Writer has no agent integration of this kind — and OpenMarkdown is free, with a Rust core that opens a window in well under a second.
